About that comment up there, wow! Then, ICT Village mag(www.ictvillage.com) says this is one of the blogs to watch out for. Al Kags, a WordPress blogger under the same name wrote the article. They are, by the way, competitors of the mag I work for E1 which was Kenya’s first ICT mag.

This is a message for Lumka Oliphant – I salute you my sister! I just received your article written in the Saturday Star dated, 14 December 2006, from a friend. I’m so sorry to hear about your loss, but thank you for writing about what so many people are thinking but too scared to talk about. Bless you.

Lukma Oliphant – Read your article in the opinion Saturday Star Dec 9 2006 and share your views. Your courage and stand on crime in this country needs to be commened. You are certainly the voice of millions of other citizens in this country who experience and scourge of crime on a daily basis. I truly admire your strength of character and determination not to take crime lightly in this beautiful country of ours. Keep up your valiant efforts in exposing the real situation of crime and I hope that the government will take note of it urgently. Ps. If you ever run for presidency, you will certainly have my vote.

    Tremors in Kenya———-Repent
Panic has hit several parts of Nairobi and its environs as a result of mild tremors. Its sad that tremors and earthquakes get people unaware and nothing can be done to stop them. It is also said that no one can predict an earthquake, but I have doubt about this when it comes to prophesy.

Remember Dr. David Owuor a scientist turned prophet and televangelist. He featured in the media worldwide for predicting disasters. He predicted the Asian Tsunami, America’s Hurricane Katrina and Pakistan’s earthquake. In February he predicted that earthquake will hit Nairobi unless the country repents.

Could this be the beginning of that prophecy? If that is the case we should pray and repent our sins to avert a bigger calamity.

The government is now busy telling people to ignore prophecy (saying no one can predict earthquakes), while if the tremors were to repeat in violent frequencies they would be the first ones to call for National prayers after the damage is done.

I think the best thing is that we just repent of our sins whether Dr. Owuor was right or not furthermore we are not repenting to him but to God. If we repent and the tremors don’t reoccur, what do we lose? Nothing. But when we fail to repent and the tremor increase we lose property and lives.

    Repent Kenyans .

    May God help us.

I have dreams. I respond to those dreams and things come to pass. This is how God speaks to me. I had a dream, not sure how long ago, maybe 2 years. I’d have to check my journal for the exact date. This morning I did a search on ‘earthquake nairobi’ and can across this website. In my dream, the signal for the end of the earth was a massive earthquake in Nairobi. My church here in Newfoundland, Canada is planning another missions trip to Nairobi. That’s all I have to say on the matter for now.

DR DAVID AWORI IS NOT THE ONLY PROPHET IN KENYA AS HIS FOLLOWERS CLAIM. HE IS JUST BUT ONE OF THEM. CHRISTIAN LIFE IS NOT ALL ABOUT REPENTANCE ALONE. THE ARE MANY OTHER TEACHINGS. GOD DID NOT CALL PROPHET AWORI ALONE BUT ALSO TEACHERS, PASTORS, EVANGELISTS AND APOSTLES AND LAY LEADERS IN MANY OTHER AREAS OF SERVICE. DR DAVID AWORI TEACHES REBELLION TO CHRISTIANS AND NOT TO GIVE TO GIVE LOVE OFFERINGS COMMONLY KNOWN AS “SEED” OFFERING WHILE HE HIMSELF DEPENDS ON THE SEED TO POPULARIZE HIMSELF.
HE HAS NO HEAVEN TO TAKE PEOPLE TO AD RAPTURE IS NOT HERE GOD ONLY KNOWS RAPTURE WHEN IT WILL COME.H E IS BRAINWASHING PEOPLE ESPECIALLY IN RIFT VALLEY THROUGH JESUS IS LORD RADIO.

wambilianga, the bible says who ever says there is no GOD is a fool. When you read the bible when moses was leading isralites into the promised land, Aron and mirriam made fun of moses and told him, ‘who is moses you mean GOD can only speak to moses’actualy GOD was disapointed and he struck mirriam with a deadly disease until when aron went to moses to tell him to plead to GOD to forgive mirriam. so brother may GOD forgive you and open your innermost eyes that you may see far and repent for the day of rapture is nearing.

PROPHET AWORI HAS NEVER CLAIMED TO BE THE ONLY PROPHET,NEITHER HAS HE CLAIMED TO BE HAVING HIS OWN HEAVEN. OF COURSE THERE ARE MANY OTHER PROPHETS AND OTHER SERVANTS OF GOD WITH VARIED GIFTS.GOD HAS GIVEN HIM A MESSAGE OF REPENTANCE, AND THAT IS WHAT HE IS PREACHING, WHICH IS PERFECTLY IN ORDER.REPENTANCE IS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT PART OF CHRISTIAN LIFE, TO SAY THE LEAST! CHURCHES HAVE ABUSED OFFERINGS TO MAKE BUSINESS. THANK GOD DR. AWORI IS CHECKING ALL THIS. I WOULD RATHER PEOPLE LISTEN TO THIS SERVANT OF GOD, THAN DO THE CONTRARY.

    Dears friends,

I was delighted to get the list of your emails and I am very pleased to be able to write to you when the memories of our days together in Nairobi are still fairly fresh. I would like to begin by thanking you all for your whole-hearted participation in what was a demanding, but very rewarding programme. I was very impressed by the quality of your participation; by your attention to lectures and inputs, by the insightful nature of your questions and by the outcomes from the work-groups. I look forward to receiving the final version of the closing statement which I am confident will bring together all the fruits of your reflection and discussion.

More important in many ways than the formal outcomes of the Workshops, however, was the wonderful spirit of communion and solidarity that we experienced together and I hope we can create a forum that will allow us to maintain something of that sense of togetherness. I would like to invite you to use this group email facility to post any comments you might have about the Workshop and how we might follow up on it. We would also love to know about the various communications projects and activities that you are engaged with in your home countries and how your involvement in the Workshop might have impacted there.

I would like to let you know about an initiative of this Council which is addressed in particular to young people like you. To highlight the Pope’s message for World Communications Day, we launched a new website – http://www.pope2you.net – where you will find a range of materials related to the message, including “e-cards” with images of pope Benedict and short quotations. I would invite you to share this material with your friends: with your help, the message of the Pope could reach many young people who might not otherwise hear of it.

I will be in touch again soon to let you know about our different projects and plans. For now, I would like to wish each of you and your families every grace and blessing. I ask you to keep me in your prayers.

    + Claudio Maria Celli
    President
    Pontifical Council for Social Communications

it was recently brought to my attention that Dr. Owuor said: “The shoulder He was using to carry the cross, they broke it”. this is in TIME IS OVER, Part 2 (At 4:09 minutes – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3a2_…eature=related).  yet – i’m sure you know –  in Psalms 34.20 it says “He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken. ”

is this not scripturally wrong?  i love dr owuor(!) and i have watched over 25 hrs of his videos, but it seems he is preaching a false scripture as it pertains to the breaking of the Messiah’s shoulder.

    perhaps there is another explanation

    Prayers of Protection

Note: These are scriptures that I collected over time to pray before and during prayer walking a few years back. Our little band got in the habit of each having a sheet of them in hand as we drove to a location to pray. Then, as we rode along, we would pray these scriptures out loud and ask God’s hedge of protection around us and our family members as we did his business. Thus we were praying smart. We were deflecting any attack of the enemy before it was launched. You may feel free to print this out and use it when you prayer walk also.

“This I know, that God is for me.” Psalm 56:9

“Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for thou hast been a refuge for me, a tower of strength against the enemy.” Psalm 61:2-3

“Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, the God who is our salvation. God is to us a God of deliverances; and to God the Lord belong escapes from death.” Psalm 68:19-20

“No evil will befall you, nor will any plague come near your tent.” Psalm 91:10

“You will tread upon the lion and cobra, the young lion and the serpent you will trample down.” Psalm 91:13

“But Thou hast exalted my horn like that of the wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil. And my eye has looked exultantly upon my foes, my ears hear of the evildoers who rise up against me. The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree, he will grow like a cedar in Lebanon.” Psalm 92:10-11

“Praise the Lord! How blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.” Psalm 112:1-3

“From my distress I called upon the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me in a large place. The Lord is for me; I will not fear; what can man do to me? The Lord is for me among those who help me; therefore I shall look with satisfaction on those who hate me.” Psalm 118:5-7

“If I say, ‘Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, and the light around me will be night,’ even the darkness is not dark to Thee, and the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to Thee.” Psalm 139:11-12

“Great is our Lord, and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite. The Lord supports the afflicted; He brings down the wicked to the ground.” Psalm 147:5-6

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe.” Proverbs 18:10

“Behold, all those who are angered at you will be shamed and dishonored; those who contend with you will be as nothing and will perish. You will seek those who quarrel with you, but will not find them, those who war with you will be as nothing, and non-existent. For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand, who says to you, do not fear, I will help you.” Isaiah 41:11-13

“And I am God. Even from eternity I am He; and there is none who can deliver out of My hand; I act and who can reverse it?” Isaiah 43:13

“And as for Me, this is My covenant with them, says the Lord: My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring, says the Lord, from now and forever.” Isaiah 59:21

“In righteousness you will be established; you will be far from oppression, for you will not fear; and from terror, for it will not come near you. If anyone fiercely assails you it will not be from Me. Whoever assails you will fall because of you. Behold, I Myself have created the smith who blows the fire of coals, and brings out a weapon for its work; and I have created the destroyer to ruin. No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their vindication is from Me, declares the Lord.” Isaiah 54:14-17

“For it is Thou who dost bless the righteous man, O Lord, thou dost surround him with favor as with a shield.” Psalm 5:12

“Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered; and let those who hate him flee before him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away; as wax melts before the fire.” Psalm 68:1-2

Freemasonry does not seek to persuade anyone to join it – candidates should come forward of their own free will and apply.

In the Order are men of widely divergent intellectual, cultural and social backgrounds, but all are motivated by Brotherly love. Although there are no barriers to the Freemason’s improvement within and without the Lodge, the Order demands respect of social conventions and teaches that, whereas some may rule, others must obey.

Freemasons, in their relations with one another, will naturally attempt to help one another in the attainment of their Masonic ideals and to improve relationships in the outside world, but it is not incumbent on the Lodge, or the individual Mason, to support or assist Brethren in their normal business lives, or professions, nor to function as a Charitable or Benefit society. Indeed, any who come to Freemasonry with the idea they are joining a Charitable or Benefit Society will be sadly disillusioned.

There are no pecuniary or material advantages offered by the Order. Freemasonry does however, have certain charities which are solely intended for the assistance of Brethren who, when they joined the Order, enjoyed good circumstances and apparent financial stability, but who subsequently, though circumstances beyond their control, have fallen on hard times. These Masonic charities are not intended to replace the provisions which a man must make for his family in his old age or in the event of his death.

The Freemason is, however, in addition to paying his Lodge dues, expected to make a contribution to Masonic Charities and, as a man’s first duty must be unequivocally be to himself and his family and his home, the prospective Candidate is advised that he should not join the Order if he is unable to meet the financial obligations of membership without strain on his normal family obligations, or if his joining would, in any way whatsoever, be detrimental to his family commitments.

No Masonic Lodge takes part in politics and no discussion on politics generally, or State Policy, is permitted in the Lodge. The Order does not interfere in a Brother’s political belief, or in his activities outside the Lodge, but requires that members be law-abiding and acknowledge the Civil Authorities. The Lodge will not countenance Brethren guilty of criminal misdemeanor or subversive activities. Whilst demanding from its members loyalty and obedience to its principles and constitution, there is nothing in Freemasonry which conflicts with a man’s civil, moral or religious obligations. Masonry is an international fraternity; however each Mason is enjoined to be loyal to his own country, knowing that other men love their country as he loves his.

Although the Freemason must have religious belief, as the Order’s teaching is carried out with religious symbolism, Freemasonry is not a religion, nor is the Masonic Temple a place of Worship. The Order does not attempt to provide, or to supplant religious requirements which are best provided by Churches, or other religious bodies with that specific function. The Order does not usurp these functions. The Freemason must, however, be prepared to undertake solemn obligations in the sight of God, and on the Holy Bible. The Order embraces the concept of brotherly love under the Fatherhood of God.

    Summary:

    1. The Prospective Candidate must be sincerely desirous of, and have the ability to, improve his intellectual and spiritual and moral code of conduct and must be prepared to devote his time, means and efforts thereto, and to assist his Brethren, by Brotherly love, to achieve their like objects.
    2. He must not seek business, financial or social advantage from the Order.
    3. His joining the Order should not place financial, or other strain on his family commitments.
    4. He must have a religious belief.

    Are there any Fees involved?

Yes. Current annual membership varies from Lodge to Lodge which is largely to cover our use of the temples we meet in. Other amounts payable include a once-off initiation fee, which may include your first year of membership.

Donations to our Charitable causes are collected at meetings but the amount given is entirely voluntary. Other costs include your Apron, which you will purchase on your attainment of the Master Mason degree. A small amount is also payable for refreshments at our meetings.
