*I’m culling this portion of reflections from discussions that took place at a major Christian meet-up in Asia a few days ago. Will share more as I find appropriate.

Heb. 11 – Talks abt the Heroes of faith..and how the world was unworthy of them….if we are so comfortable in this world that we so badly want to be accepted by it and be in its inner-circles of popularity and acceptance, then we are not going to have a passion for God.
One of the scary things today is that we would succeed in things that don’t matter in eternity.
“…Would that God would make Hell so real to us that we cannot rest, Heaven so real that we must have men in there, Christ so real that our supreme motive and aim shall be to make the Man of Sorrows the Man of Joy by the conversion of many to Him.” – Hudson Taylor.

*Some books of enduring interest to me:

1. THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP – By Dietrich Boenhoeffer
2. TRAINING TO DIE – By Bayo Famonure
3. LET THE NATIONS BE GLAD – By Dr. John Piper

* My craziest quote of the day:

“What will ODM-K do if Raila Odinga defects to Narc-Kenya?” – A caller asking Prof. Anyang Nyong’o on tonight’s edition of Newsline. Both Nyong’o and Louis Otieno, the anchor, just burst out laughing. BTW, Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi holds brief for Narc-K on next week’s edition of the same programme (on KTN). They are supposed to give us their assesment of the impact of Narc-K and ODM-K politics on the operations of bunge now that it is back in session.

* My most sad bit of the day:

I just received a text from a close buddy. His father-in-law-to-be (in Europe) is wasting away at this very moment coz of cancer. He says: “Hey bro, ……. is dying. He’s losin memory. Pliz pray he may have a chance to bid farewell to wife n kids. Am so sad…..”

Love this food for thought – “One of the scary things today is that we would succeed in things that don’t matter in eternity.” It’s too easy to get distracted, that’s for sure.
    Have a great day!!

Living in light of eternity is every serious Christian’s calling from a past, present and future eternity, for which we must make our lives a daily and responsible answer to the question of God’s call on our lives in our generation. Blessings!
