Quakes to hit Nairobi, says Owuor

February 22, 2007 at 2:54 pm 61 comments

I blogged about him and the message he bore early last year. He says due to Kenyan Church leaders’ stubbornness, oppression of the poor, defilement of the altar and the nation, God’s patience is fast running out with Kenya and His judgement is hanging in the air and soon coming. Here I reproduce bits of my notes (not in any specific order) from a press conference he held earlier today.

• When God sent me to Kenya, He specifically asked me to address the Church.
• There is immense sexual immorality in the Church, involving bishops, pastors, worship leaders and members of the congregation.
• There’s much love for money and wealth in the Church, with an increase in the panda mbegu gospel.
• Church leaders have bared their love for the trappings of this world by immersing themselves into the country’s politics.
• The Lord spoke to me on February 10th, 2007, saying very clearly that there is going to be a massive earthquake in Nairobi.
• The Church has detoured from God’s will; the turn is Satanic, not for Christ.
• The Church in Kenya was at the forefront in fighting the message of repentance in the 2 years I was here; it even used its contacts and networks to block the country’s leadership from repentance.
• A massive earthquake is going to hit Nairobi as a consequence of that.
• New Orleans fell because of sexual immorality, witchcraft from Haiti, etc.
• God is going to plough through thiscity, including such areas as the University of Nairobi.
• I can see 3 military helicopters flying to the rescue of injured people in the city, I see people digging through rubble for loved ones as was the case along Ronald Ngala Street a while back.
• The altar of the Lord has been defiled. The Church in the country has served and worshipped another god, especially the Church in Nairobi. Bishops and pastors here have loved money more than they have loved Jesus. Rwanda was warned about such things too before tragedy befell it.
• The God of the Bible is holy and has a zero tolerance for sin.
• Defilement of the altar has angered God; it has riled up Him.
• Your economy will be destroyed. Your public health sector will be affected too. The smell of death is here.
• Fear Him and return to Him. Stop this panda hapa, upate hapa gospels without holiness.
• The Church in this country has no moral authority to lead; it has become completely irrelevant.
• The Church is the light of the world, but it has brought darkness to this country.
• This is an approved judgement from the Lord – on the land that bears the name of Kenya.
• He who keeps your city will not keep it anymore.
• The earthquake is going to happen very soon.
• Animal sicknesses and illnesses will increase – including TB – so as to catch your attention and need for the Lord. You are a country that loves meat. Those who rely on livestock for livelihood will also have to think about God.
• There are false prophets in this country.
• There is gravity to every word I’m speaking today.
• Ye that wander around in this city – you needholiness; you’ve failed to be a role model.
• Kenya is a nation so much in need of direction from the Lord.
• Your bishops love sex, money, business, etc. Some have abandoned ministry of the gospel for politics: Which is the greater calling?
• In the process of leading this nation and Church to repentance, greatest opposition has come from Church leaders.
• Some of your buildings will be destroyed.
• Lots of prostitution going all over Nairobi.
• We are ripe for judgement now.
• There’s much murder in this country. You can be kiled for anything.
• Pastors and bishops are busy building their own empires, not God’s Kingdom.
• The earthquake will impact on your economy, civil structure, etc.
• You will have to repent, – matters less whether it will come before or after the quake.
• Only God has preserved this country and made it great. Refugees from al over Africa flock here. Kenya was an island of peace in a sea of turbulence. Kenya has abused the protection and custodianship God had bestowed upon it.
• The Lord is coming bac, where you like it or not.
• Since many bishops and pastors are defiled, God is going to raise up a new leadership for His Church.
• Religious parties – This is not the way of the Lord to raise leadership for a nation.
• Repentance is the only way for us to be in the will of God.
• Rift Valley Fever – The Lord is taking away meat from your tables for you to return to Him. Those who rear livestock will have to return to Him.
• Anglican and Catholic proposed merger – This is apostacy. It is a falling away from the faith.
• This message of repentance has not been v. popular with bishops and pastors because it touches on their personal empires.
• It will be folly to dismiss what I am saying today.
• Clergymen should ead this country back to God.
• The quake will come because repentance hasn’t been one as He expected, and also to prove that indeed He had sent me.
• I have been here for two years now; He is calling me to move on to India now.

Woo.
I like(sadly) this part:
The Church in this country has no moral authority to lead; it has become completely irrelevant.

A prophet is known for the outcomes of his prophecy. Folks be on the look out: either repentence or occurance of event

• 2. mungaimacharia  |  February 23, 2007 at 12:56 am

You dont want us to believe this kind of thing Jessee do you? It is sentimental, emotive and self righteous. There is no reference to scripture and the message of the cross is missing. Its all about judgement without the balancing factor of God’s grace. The prophecy is kind of based on a si – disater relationship which is not always the case. The message looks confused and ignorant of the many dynamics of church life and the christian faith in General. It is not informed. It is not a prophetic warning but rather a selfish threat, at least in my opinion. We test it with time, but I am not looking forward to an eartquake and rescuing bodies in Nairobi. There is hope for mankind in Jesus Christ.

• 3. acolyte  |  February 23, 2007 at 4:45 am

I echo mungai’s sentiments, many parts of this message are vague and it comes off as a rant of sorts.
But I do agree with his views on the current state of the church.

• 4. "Errandboy"  |  February 23, 2007 at 5:33 am

Well, we have seen some of these things happening right below our noses. Though the message appears a bit too emotional, and of course scary, we cannot dismiss it entirely. There is need of spiritual/biblical confirmation but still, it is safer for the church to take the message as a wake up call.

The Church has a lot to do before its influence is accepted in, especially, leadership of the country. Today, it is difficult to tell the difference between a politician, union leader, a clergy, and a hawker!… a case of “mwamba ngoma huvutia kwake”.

• 5. Abigail  |  February 23, 2007 at 8:29 am

We, christians tend to dismiss a message when it suits us as with such excuses as “no biblical reference”. Sin is sin, and we all know that immorality is sin. By the time you get a message such as the one Dr Owuor brought, God would have spoken in so many other instances and given very many opportunities for repentance. Instead of dismissing it as “emotioal” please axamine your own self in the light of scripture, and if you find yourself right in the sight of God, give Him praise and move on by praying for others. In the event that your life is wanting in some area, go before Him with a humble heart and a contrite spirit in repentance.

• 6. Anne Kaari  |  February 23, 2007 at 9:01 am

I believe the prophesy and I think most of our Church leaders have let us down. The Bible says ‘ you shall know them by their fruits.’ We need to get down on our knees and pray for forgiveness. May the Lord bless and protect Kenya.

• 7. C Wanjohi  |  February 23, 2007 at 9:57 am

Interesting observations. These threats, are they from God or is this guy taking us for a scare tour… come on, some things like rift valley fevor, surely… The church is good business for persons with the gift of the gab, and no longer holds its traditional place as checker of governance and solace and refuge for the needy… Should this message be true, then its long over due, and my honest question would be, what on earth has the Lord been waiting for… But before He strikes poor kenyans, let Him start with the Mungiki, Taliban and all those stealing politicians and ‘clegy’.

Dear Dr.Owuor,
I greet you in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
On 12th of December at 3.00am. In adream I saw myself on a way side and
you’re holding the repentace meeting. The way I was standing, the
meeting was on my left hand. And I was waiting for you the group from Nairobi
so that we may go with you to Nairobi. While I was standing
there, another pastor came from my right hand side and toldme that;[Tell Dr. Owuor
that we need him to come to our place to bring this meeting of
repentance and holiness to our place, people in our place are thirsty for those
meetings].When he had spoken like that, I was enabled to see those
people and how thirst they were.I wanted to e-mail this message but Idin,t
have the adress. It was until yesterday when I called asking for the
adress and I was told that it is found in repentance and holiness
magazine. When I heard you say that God has tolt you that you go India in Olkalao
meeting,I understood that God was telling me about that.May the
Almighty God bless you so much and let His hand be upon you always as
you serve Him.
Please pray for me becauseof the minisry work. The message that you came
with concernig bloodshed in Kenya,God gave me that message in the
year,2003 Feb.And He showed me dead bodies full of blood and other people
had been shot but they had not died. They were criying but there was no
body to help them because people were running to other countries to be
refugees.it was at noon time and the blood begun to smell because of the
hot sun shine. That smell came into my nose and then I closed my nose
then I woke up.I begun to cry in prayer telling God to have mercy on us
because we have never been refugees but instead we have been hosting
refugees in our country. That night I watered my bed with tears. Then the
Lord told me to tell christians to pray turn from there weaked ways.the
day that followed I went to look for the pastors and I told them because
in Kakamega for you to sayanything from the Lord you’re to go though
the pastors.
The year 2002 November the Lord gave me the message concerning
ministers of the gospel loving money more than the souls that Our Lord Jesus
died for. After a week,He showed me the rupture and children hadbeen
ruptured and the people that Isaw remaining were these big preachers and I
wondered why but now I understand why.
The year 2006 When we were in that meeting of Turbo,I was crying for
Kakamega while people wer crying for Turbo. The last day you were praying
for people and many people were touchedby the Lord and I was wondering
why not me?but the last prayer that you made, the power of the Lord
flowed through me like the electric current and it came though my tongue
and it begun to vibrate. From there the Lord told me to go into prayer and
fasting. There He lead me to repent on behalf of Kakamega, they were many
sins that are beeing done by the ministers of the gospel incuding
sexual sins and after they have pregnanded a sister, they take money from
the church and give it to this sister to go and abort. This one made me to
cry so much. After few days I was again lead into prayer and fasting. It
continued like this until April when I was in prayer and fasting and
the Lord told me to tell that,[ If they will not bring AGENUINE I will
sweep them a way.By that time, He told me to raise my finger
towardas Kakamega and HE PUT SOME WORDS IN my mouth and I spoke them.I
din,t know that there was a mama who was preaching against your message
concerning the love of money.By that time that mama while on the alter,
she was struck dead.
The year 1997,I saw somedy in a vission who came and told me to prepare
food and eat. Then He told me to go and hervest and that He is coming
back to take the harvest.I begun from where I was and I begun to cross
boundaries as I harvest. What we were harvesting we were puting it beside
a river under a shed of a tree which was beside that river. We reached
somewhere where we thought that we had finished to harvest. We sat there
waiting for the owner to come and take the harvest. As we were there,The
same man came and told us that there is a land which has not been
harvested and He wanted somebody to go with to show him or her that land. All
people picked on me.I tried to resist but it couldi’nt happen.I went
with Him and He showed me that land .On my way back, he carried me and
ahae told me that [If I couldin’t have carried you, you could have been
killed. As we were waiting for Him to come and take the harvest,I saw
white dove flying above the waters and it was speaking like
this; How can they call on Him on whom they have not known. And how will
they know without being told and how will they be told without a
preacher and how will he preach unless he be told, and afer you have done all
this why can’t you thank God for helping you to do what He has
toldyou?A fter this vission I wwent to pray and fast for forty days.As iwas
continuing with prayers, the Lord told me that [I have called you to
preach the gospel to all Nations,I have put upon you great anointng and
because of this, many people will try to kill you but they will not succeed
because I am with you.Including my own servants.]Because of this I told
the Lord to take this anointing and give it somebody else but He told
me that [my grace is sufficient for you].When He gave me that message
for this Nation. He told me to preach on the subject [reparing the alter
of the Lord Which is in ruine.I thank God so much because when you came
you continued with the same message.AS you are preparing to
leave I believe that there is something you need to impart in me before
you go according to the vissions and dreams that I have been having of
late, which I have not written here.Let’s meet in Kericho meeting
tomorrow. God bless you so much.
In Christ’s love,
Sister Winny from Kakamega.

• 10. Gerald  |  February 23, 2007 at 12:46 pm

The church has really failed in setting a good example for the nations and its not only Kenya. Its all over the world but nevertheless we are not exempted from God’s wrath for our sins.I have severally watched Dr Owuor in some meeting in the Tv and i would like to say with all due respect that he always brings of the bad things to come while Jesus brought hope. Therefore there is no more condemnation for them that are in Christ Jesus.Sin should always be referred by its name and not by less ‘powerful’ words like weakness and i appreaciate that Dr Owuor has brought them out clearly.
What i am worried about is the way Dr looks.I thought he should have shaved his beards to atleast look like he was abit serious.

• 11. john  |  February 23, 2007 at 1:35 pm

God is good and just. As we can see God sends his servants
the Prophets even as in the Bible to Kings , peoples and Nations. God changes not. He is the same yestarday , today and forever.Kenya
and Kenyans can not change the truth that SIN is SIN. The Bible
says that without Holliness no one will see GOD. On my own words I say let God be true. Its time for true repentance.

• 12. Roseline Agoroh  |  February 23, 2007 at 1:52 pm

Brethren, I have keenly lstened and seen Dr. Owuor’s prophesis come to pass. Believe me this too will surely come to pass. May each one of us pray that our souls are spared when this finally happens.

Mrs. Agoroh

I am not an authority in this spiritual field, I am a serious believer though and I believe in what The Holy Book, Bible says, what the professor is saying hear are the signs of the second coming of Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself, the Bible says Does not know even the hour of His coming back but gave signs like earthquakes would mean the hour is near. We are seeing so many churches coming up, majority of the founders of these churches are actually in business but not after spreading the word of God, people are in love with money, power, sin and the list is endless. Dear brothers and sisters, God speaks to His people through the least expected. I want to believe Dr. Owour is not out of his mind, God could be speaking to us through him. What Dr. Owour is stressing to us all here is repentance. The Bible says we are all sinners so why let us repent. Remember when God told Noah to build the ark, let us not behave like those people who saw Noah as a madman, because at last the rain came. Rethink your stand on this and repent. I am not a preacher and I wont mind being one but MAY OUR HEAVENLY FATHER BE GLORIFIED AND FORGIVE US KENYANS – WE HAVE SINNED AGAINST YOU FATHER, IN JESUS NAME I PRAY, AMEN.

• 14. Gakii4ever  |  February 23, 2007 at 4:13 pm

You see guys, this pastor has been known for prophecies-come-true.He is not another Pat Robertson-kind.Remember,what he has said is all relevant to Kenya right now.Be careful. That doesn’t mean am carried away by all manner of “holy” blabber that happens in Nairobi.Usiseme haukuambiwa!

• 15. barbara  |  February 23, 2007 at 4:59 pm

Well, interesting prophecy. Lets wait and see. what is said is common to many of the urban churches in Africa, but what ‘am not sure of is whether it is God the Almighty really speaking or it is the speakers’ reaction. My prayer is that the church would sincerely repent and not look like anything that this ‘prophet’ says. The other thing that lives me a bit puzzled is that I would expect that the speaker was reading from the Holy Scripture to align his words with the complete revelation of God, which you do not give us.

• 16. JOSEPH SHIKUKU  |  February 23, 2007 at 7:40 pm

FINE, LET’S ALL REPENT AND ASK GOD TO SIFT AND SPARE OUR LAND. I AGREE WITH DR. OWUOR. THERE’S MUCH SIN IN THIS COUNTRY AND WE’VE TAKEN GOD’S GRACE FOR GRANTED FOR FAR TOO LONG. GOD HELP US.

• 17. Anonymous  |  February 23, 2007 at 11:22 pm

Prophecy? Complete nonsense. If you want to instill fear in people, take a lesson from this man.

• 18. LILLIAN  |  February 24, 2007 at 12:31 pm

As a prophet pls plead for mercy.Truly God has blessed us and we have taken it for granted. No man can stand the WRATH OF JEHOVAH.LET US HUMBLE OURSELVES AND REPENT.

• 19. eliud maina  |  February 24, 2007 at 1:24 pm

People, while it is true that you should always test the spirits, it is a folly to just write off one who says he has heard from God (surely we should be excited if we hear from our father, not so? Or do we only consider him a Father when he leaves us to do our own stuff?).

The Good thing is this: there is a simple test: Just wait and see the outcome. KA, you could set a reminder on your blog as time moves on, so that people do not forget, and for any nay sayers to be surprised.

But of course, if there is repentance, no judgement would follow (Just like Nineveh in Jonah’s time)

No one with understanding will doubt the truth of most of what he says (the only question is whether judgement cometh as said). The church is exceedingly worldly, and so are most of us who name the name of Christ. We should be at least excited when we get a warning to turn and do right, even if judgement is not promised.

• 21. Saul Wandere  |  February 25, 2007 at 11:07 am

You better believe the prophesy that comes from above!! God sends to us a prophet to warn and direct the people/a nation on God’s will.

Remember the days of Noah during the great Floods on earth; Also remember the angles visitation on Sodom and Gomorrah and how the two cities were destroyed with FIRE. In both cases there was a prophesy to warn the people. Some people listened and repented while others laughed away the prophesy. So the same is still the case upto the present time.

KEEP WATCH AND PRAY FOR THE END IS NEAR.

WATCH THIS SPACE.

• 22. hash  |  February 25, 2007 at 1:58 pm

are you people serious????????????????????????

fine we have all sinned and all….everyone has done it across the world from the beginning of time…..BUT TO BELIEVE THAT THERE WILL BE AN EARTHQUAKE…..thats just *!!!!!!!!!!!!

• 24. queen viv  |  February 26, 2007 at 9:17 am

Well, no- one can tell whether it’s true or not, but time will. Sitaki kufa aiii! I don’t want to be maimed either. Seriously I have so much to live for. Anybody feel me? But I think we should focus on longing to be like Him with or without earthquakes… life is so meaningless without Him

• 25. morrie  |  February 26, 2007 at 3:27 pm

I belief the prophecy, and I think we should ask God to forgive us.

• 26. Zipporah Minayo  |  February 26, 2007 at 4:05 pm

Earthquake or no earthquake, we need to repent at all times for the wages of sin is death. We are all visitors on this earth and we shall be accountable before the Almightly God. Indeed we have sinned as a nation and the church has throughly embarrassed the work of God. Kenyans let us turn from our wicked ways and turn to God and we shall all be saved.

Kenyans. Recieve the prophecy and repent your sins. Is there any sin Dr Awour has mentioned that is not happening in the church in Kenya? Take heed and ask God for forgiveness. I don’t live in Kenya but i have family there. I cry to God for our nation. I pray that the christians will heed this message and repent before it is too late. I would like to know God’s will for the nation i now live in and why God sent us to this nation. There is total lack of fear of God here too. Dr Awour if you could email me. Keep on preaching as God leads you.
The bible says,”Go and tell this people: “Be ever hearing, but never understanding, be ever seeing, but never perceiving. Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn and be healed. Isaiah 6:9-13 partly quoted. Please read through it all Kenyans. Repent! Repent! IT WILL NO LONGER BE A SONG as pple have thought, THAT JESUS IS COMING SOON, HE IS REALLY COMING!!! AND ONLY THE RIGHTEOUS AND HOLY WILL BE RAPTURED. LETS SINCERELY REPENT LEST OUR NATION IS DOOMED.

• 33. samson evance otieno  |  February 28, 2007 at 4:47 pm

Friends it’s a known fact that every sin has it’s consequences and one constant consequence is God’s wrath, the prophetic word given by daktari is in line with God’s word on punishment whenever His people are stiff necked, remember Prophetic word of Jeremiah that led God’s people to Bablyon. Repentance should be our lifestyle wether there’s threat of earthquake or not coz a life of a Christian is based on that solely, however i wolud like to caution believers that a yardstick based on other prophecies that were fulfilled can be misleading and dangerous to the man of God (daktari) God vindicating us is not depended on the our past success or failures but on the state that He finds us now at present, a good example is Samson of the bible read also Ezekiel 18. Consequently friends repentance does not need debate, let’s repent.

• 34. Gikonyo  |  February 28, 2007 at 6:00 pm

We shouldn’t despise prophecy according to the bible.Again its no secret the Churh in Kenya needs to repent.Whether there will be an earthquake or not lets repent and plead for His mercy. He loves us and thats why He sending us a wake up call!

SO MUNGAI MACHARIA ITS GOOD WE AND HEED AND REPENT

• 35. larrymads  |  March 1, 2007 at 11:41 am

I do not even know what to say. Kenyans sure have a wide array of opinions.

• 36. Jimmy Gitonga  |  March 1, 2007 at 1:13 pm

We have a problem, people. First let me remove the obvious out of the way. Whether Owuor is dressed in sack cloth with matted hair including twigs or sleeping in the market place tied with ropes and cooking with cow-dung is irrelevant. Those of advocating his shabby look are missing the point. What is Owuor saying?

Firstly, past prophetic prowess cannot be counted on, (1 Kings 13:1-32) to ascertain that a prophesy will come to pass. Dr. Owuor could be an old prophet lying through his teeth. And he wouldn’t be alone in this forum. Many of us here do not read the Scriptures and we are the first to shout doom or boon. How will you know that his message is full of error? One person here has not gotten Owuor’s name right, are we listening keenly?

Secondly, there is something as the church of Jesus Christ in Kenya or in the world for that matter, BUT it is not the organised grand religion that we see around us or on TV. Those guys walked out on Yeshua a long time ago. What they have in their aid is the power God has vested through His Spirit in the Scriptures and God’s boundless grace until it is taken for granted. The mistake Owuor has made is to presuppose that the Church is the the pastors and their henchmen. If you follow the Scriptures strictly as God reveals them to you, one quickly realises that the synagogues came to Israel as the Israelites returned from Babylon. There were essentially a “social recreational hall” where wedding, teachings and Scripture readings used to take place. Since no one had bible copies in their homes, one learnt the Scriptures at the synagogue. But this is what happened the day Jesus was revealed to the Israelites at Galilee in the synagogue – Luke 4:21-30! These organisations should return to their real names – Synagogues, not the Church!

This brings us to the third point, Kenya is a secular state and has no agreement with God to keep His laws as any state in the world. Kenya is NOT a Theocracy, ruled by God’s requirements, we are a human republic of various nations (ethnic groups for those not in the know) which makes its laws as the we go along. The only nation to have received these instructions was Israel and thus the theocracy way of thinking is not transferable to us. If one would say that these rules apply to the Church, I would say the Spirit of them does, not the letter. We are under the same God but under a new covenant. Just to illustrate how serious the deception has gone, did you know we cannot justify tithing with the New Testament and if we take it with the Old Testament them we must take all that surrounds it? Have you noticed they only use one and verse (Malachi 3:10) and if you took all that talk about tithing, we would have to stop tithing on the seventh year of Sabbath? One cannot pick and choose what to keep of the Law (James 2:8-11).

Lastly, Owour has not framed the prophesy well. A prophesy is meant to do two things, it is a warning to those who hear and a foretelling to those who don’t. Take the book of the Revelation chapters 2 and 3. These are some of the prophesies that are in the Scriptures that are peculiar to churches (not synagogues) in geographical areas. Note the sequence of Jesus’s remarks to all of them.
a. Something particular and local of the congragation, no generalisation here.
b. His judgement of the situation they are experiencing. Note that the prophesy is not wished away, perseverance is what is asked for in all cases.
c. His direct encouragement to those who hear and persevere.

Putting all this into perspective, Kenya is in a particular state that is different from Uganda and Tanzania. What is the particular message to us, Kenyans?

Everything Owuor has said falls into the broad prophesy given to the world, that sin will increase, false prophets will appear, many will love themselves and walk away from godliness either “Christian” or otherwise, and the coming of the antichrist. All this before Jesus Christ comes back. Note the thrust of prophesy is not to instill fear (1 Tim. 1:7), but the revelation of God’s mind (1 Cor. 14:1-5).

Finally Duet. 13:1-5 and Deut 18: 20-22.

Let me wait …

@Jimmy Gitonga
(i)So whats your conclusion in one sentence?
(ii) Sounds to me you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, i.e you are “chruched”, very theologically literate BUT you do not know whether you have the Spirit of Christ or not. Am i wrong sir/ma’am?

@KN, if you gave mungaimacharia Jummy’s contact you would be in “vilolation”? Only Jimmy can provide such info, not so?

That is bad news and i know people will start criticism against the called servant of the Lord. To start with people in Kenya have been far away to realize that by seeking God diligently, one can have a personal relationship with him and can be communicating with him. What Prophet Owour has said should not be taken for granted for sure it will happen. Don’t be caught unaware because of what the mob have been saying abou him or other servants because salvation is personal and you cannot go to heaven as mob. Anyway i will also say that a prophecy is known by its fruits

My countrymates,

Remember the days of prophet Jeremiah- he was referred to as the weeping prophet. He told the people of God’s pronounced judgement and call for repentance. So did Ezekiel and Isaiah. But what did the people do? They listened to false prophets who told them that God is full of mercy and therefore cannot send judgement and punishment to them. They dismissed God’s prophets. Read what happened to them. They were captured and taken into exile and aftersometimes their city Jeruslaem fell into captivity. They should have heeded the prophets’ call.

By dismissing the good dr. we may be doing the same! So hearken to the message. God sends His word and it does not return to Him void. It accomplishes what He sends it forth to accomplish. It is for us to choose what to believe and either act on it or laugh it off as heresy.

Bless you all.

• 44. Mary Wanaju  |  March 12, 2007 at 2:48 pm

Just to respond to Jimmy Gitonga,

Individual christians make up the CHURCH. This church is the bride of Christ that He will come for at His second coming which is very near- although nobody knows the day or the hour but Our Father, Lord God almighty. This bride, the church has been bought with His blood that He shed on the cross and every one that believes in Him and confesses with His mouth and receives Him in his heart becomes a christian. It is not the building where christians meet that He will come for but the people who form the CHURCH.

On the other hand we christians have been grafted into Israel through believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. We are the “spiritual Israel” thereby becoming the children of the promise through Christ our saviour. Henceforth, we are descendants of Abraham through faith. The physical Israel will soon recieve the messiah they rejected thereby opening doors for us who were gentiles to be grafted onto the Kingdom of God.

So my brother please read the bible and ask God to give you His Holy Sprirt to teach you the things of God and do not rely on the doctrines of men because just as the days of Jesus, these doctrines make void the power of the word of God (matthew 15:6-9)

I pray for the latter rains to fall down on his church! For the guidance of the Holy Spirit of God on all his children to enable us to prepare the way of the coming King!

Dear all,
God speaks in many ways, but when He wants to pronounce Judgement He warns first through Hi Prophets, if one does not consider this as Mercy from God then I dont know wat Mercy is, in the world a thief does not warn you to prepare when he is coming to shoot and steal from you, but because God is Mercyful and Just, He warns us first so that we may escape Hs judgement, He said it to Abraham “Far be it from me to punish the righteous with the weaked” when He destroyed sodom that is why Lot and family were Saved. He is still the same God, sorry for the Truth but the wages of sin is death, and the Salvation from death is Repentance in Jesus Name and walking in Holiness by the Holy Spirit, there is no two ways about it.

Daktari Owuor,
God has not given us a Spirit of timidness but a Spirit of Power and Love, when God speaks, like Jeremiah if you dont speak it out to the intended audience your bones can burn up! so speak my Brother in Christ, for that is how God has Chosen to Glorify Himself, that His Will to Save be known in these last days. Remember all that the Prophetic messages are all intended to Save, and so they are actually GOOD NEWS!

AMEN

Good people,

I notice no one is raising the issue, while I know it is embarrassing … THERE WERE NO EARTHQUAKES!! As we are aware, the issue on the blog was not necessarily about sin in the church of Christ but about the earthquakes as judgement. Many said it would happen… My question is, how did they know or were they persuaded by Dr. Owuor’s sentiments?

@Toiyoi Birgen:

(i) My conclusion, if you bothered for your own good, to read the Scriptures at the end of my entry, was the last statement

“Finally Duet. 13:1-5 and Deut 18: 20-22.

Let me wait …”

However if you were waiting for an opinion, you did not understand my first paragraph. It is not about Owuor or me. It was about the message.

(ii) Only the Lord knows those who are His.

“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” (2 Tim. 2:19 KJV).

I am not SURE of anybody belonging to the Lord on this blog, for the obvious reason that I have not been in a relationship with any of you to judge the fruit of the Holy Spirit in your lives. As you rightly said, anyone can sound theologically tough, but that doesn’t mean he has a relationship with the Lord. I included. We must remember that Balaam’s donkey received the gift of discernment of spirits and spoke in tongues of its own life to Balaam, (Numbers 22:22-35) but it will not inherit the kingdom of God. Balaam begun beating the donkey and yet it was saving his life :-). It is about the message.

For those who are unsure of my relationship with the Lord Yeshuah ha Mashiach (“Jesus Christ” in Hebrew), be rest assured, He is the only one on this earth I can die for. If anyone has not noticed, I would not be quoting Scripture in this manner unless I have a relationship with the Holy Spirit. This is not theology (study about God) it is knowledge based on a relationship. (2 Peter 1:2-21). I am sorry if I sound hard. In my reality, without Him, I am nothing.

I said at the beginning of my last entry, Dr. Owuor is not the issue. The message is. If it is a message (supposedly) from God, what the believers in Christ are to do is to illuminate it with the light of the Scriptures and see whether it holds to prove it comes from the Lord (Isaiah 8:20). As for me, i can safely say I do not consider Dr. Owuor’s message as a word from God. Why? It didn’t come to pass (Duet. 18: 20-22).

@Mary Wanaju
My response to your first comment is start considering yourself as the remnant, that is all God has always had through history. In Ezekiel 9, God sends an angel to mark those who weep at the sins being commited in Jerusalem. Please realise not all who claim to be church are church of Christ. It is in the same meaning that Paul writes about the real Israel in Romans 9:6-8. The Lord is coming for those who are pure. And they are not many (Matt. 7:13).

To your second comment, I sincerely apologise for not making myself clear on the issue of the church and the synagogues. Yes, the church of Jesus Christ, that He builds Himself (Matt. 16:18) is made of people who have the revelation of Jesus Christ, proclaimed it with their mouths, followed the belief in their hearts with the action of baptised by immersion into water, and having received of His Spirit becoming the Sons of God (John 1-3). However this is but the beginning. These believers have to grow into maturity producing the fruit of the Holy Spirit continually until Christ is formed in them (John 15, Ephesians 4:11-16, Galatians 5:22-25, 2 Peter 1:2-11 and many more).

The point I should have made clearer is that the synagogues, though buildings, are also run by people. As in the days of the writing of the Bible, there were Pharisees who run those synagogues and they said they believed in God and the resurrection. And just like then a Sadducee was not recognised in the synagogue of the Pharisees, so today, a bishop in Holy Family Basilica is not recognised as a bishop at JCC. And yet they are both “Chritian”. These offices are tied to the synagogues, not to Christ (Matt. 10:17). This is what I mean,

The issue for us belivers it is not of “religious” repenting in prayer and nothing else, we know what we ought to do, we are just cowards. I know the quotation in Haggai 2:9. Its application is to the coming of Christ to the inferior looking temple of Haggai’s day compared to the glory of the Temple of Solomon’s day. This impression has come from the “Revival” doctrine which, cannot be supported by Scripture.

We are hoping that those in running the synagogues will see the “Light” and turn and we all can remain in a “cleansed” synagogue. Sorry, it won’t happen. True repentance it is a turning and walking away (out) of these structures. It has been done before in other times. It will be on each of our heads if we fail the Lord now (Rev. 18:1-24).

While I do not have enough space here, I will say that there is no “Spiritual Israel”. Read the passage:

For ye are all sons of God, through faith, in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ did put on Christ. There can be neither Jew nor Greek, there can be neither bond nor free, there can be no male and female; for ye all are one man in Christ Jesus. And if ye are Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, heirs according to promise. (Galatians 3: 26-29).

Descent from Abraham through Isaac and Jacob (Israel) in the flesh is what made one an Israelite. It was a flesh bond, not a faith one. The faith bond is in Christ and if you read carefully even male and female doesn’t exist in Christ. But we all know that when we get born again our gender, race and ethnic group remains on the body/world side. As such a Jew remains a Jew and a Gentile a Gentile. But in Christ neither. As you have stated, we know that Christ will come to rule from the physical Israel with His saints, who being glorified will be neither Jew nor Gentile indeed.

That is why I can say there is no “Spiritual Israel” because Spiritual is in Christ and Israel is in the physical world. However if you can prove from Scripture, we can continue this debate outside this blog, as it is will not be relevant here.

As for your misgivings about my bible-reading, I do not need to ask God for anything. Why? I might not be born again. It is our duty to one another to show from the Scriptures our reasoning. So the comment, “So my brother please read the bible and ask God to give you His Holy Sprirt to teach you the things of God and do not rely on the doctrines of men because just as the days of Jesus, these doctrines make void the power of the word of God (matthew 15:6-9)” fell on deaf ears. However I commend you for quotation of Scripture which I duly read and I understand your concern.

@Gikonyo, be careful about cheering, you are on record on this forum for being wrong:

“He loves us and thats why He sending us a wake up call! (Which call? my words)

SO MUNGAI MACHARIA ITS GOOD WE AND HEED AND REPENT”.

I would expect you to give me a Word in the Spirit of Luke 17:3 and 2 Tim. 4:1-4.

@KN, feel free to give my email all that ask. I will not post it here as I expect any interested person to ask. I do not expect people to come to the blog and take cheap shots at each other. Anyone who is interested, in all fairness, we should discuss matters outside this blog elsewhere.

Dear Gitonga
Blessed are those that will take part in the wedding of the lamb; so help your fellow man (mankind) by not giving excuses for sin (smootheing prophetic messages of Judgmenet by quenching the fear of the Lord which is absolutely neccessary for repentance: read JOB) but by accepting that times have changed and as much as we are living in the days of Joel 2: 28-29, we need to agree that Boldness with the Truth at this age is better than displaying years of Bible knowledge. what we need is a wake up call that for sure even those that seem to know too much about the Word may miss the wedding of the Lamb just because of relying on phylosophy and reason other than the Supernatural life in the Spirit which is the Spirit of God, what I need now are the manifestations of the Latter Annointing, fresh revelations from Jesus about the present times, which of course must be consistent with scripture (the Word=Jesus).

In brief, I believe with all my heart that those many that are recieving the call for Repentance and Holiness (for the record not only the good Dr. Owuor) have been sent by Jesus to help even those that know the Word but have waited too long and became weary and like Adam accepted the “fruit” of compromise from the World to satisfy reason and phylosophy. As a Born again Christian, The Holy Spirit cannot accept me to play phylosophy with Him; for the times have changed, lets keep in step with the Holy Spirit of God;

Advice to all;
Read John 17: you will recieve a new revelation today; one of them will be; Fellowship with the Holy Spirit through Prayer is the best way to answer yourself on whether the Truth of Prophesy has come from God (not by phylosophy)

Let us go back to the Mountain Of Prayer !

Repent and Live in Holiness! and partake in the wedding of the lamb otherwise why did you accept the Gospel of Truth if you dont intend to partake in this great Wedding? (Rev 19)

Amen

• 51. Tom  |  March 15, 2007 at 1:20 pm

A man in doubt always waits with hope to prove the Word of God wrong, on the other hand a man of Faith Focusses on Interssession to Save the ignorant so that the Truth ca reach them for their Salvation.

Dont focus on the events; remember the millions of interssessors who are spending sleepless nights for your sake! hoping that God can have Mercy on us to give room for Repentance and Salvation.

The issue is not to celebrate the earthquake or the lack of hapening of the same, its to remember that the Ways of God are not the ways of Man, and only those Fellowshipping with Him right now cam understand what is happening, it will be the most embarassing episode when God finally decides that all Intercession is not being appreciated by the benefactors and Grace runs out, only then will it matter on which side of the devide you are, Remember the Church of Leodecia! Lukewarmness to me is taking a position of a doubtor who helps the World to whitewash Prophecy compounding the Spiritual blindness that already exists; this means that those that are Lukewarm are NOT HAVING THE SAME SPIRIT as those that are interceeding for Kenya and the World as a whole. then which spirit do they have?

May the Grace of our Lord Jesus Chhrist and the Love of God and Fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all (1 Cor 13:14) Now and Forever More; Amen

Remember all, I am still to see the dates of the Pronounced Judgement from the transcript up here I have not read an axact date; and this is typical with God, He allows room for Grace to prevail. untill like sodom ad gomora we refuse the offer of Grace

So Pray on and on…in Worship, Repentance, Thanksgiving, all kinds of supplications and requests! in Truth and in Spirit.

• 53. Jimmy Gitonga  |  March 15, 2007 at 9:36 pm

Dear Tom,

Let me be the first to apologise profusely for the insinuation that the event is past. There are no dates on the transcript above that give an indication of the time frame.

It is my opinion (note: my opinion) that after the earth tremors in the DRC that were felt across East Africa that happened at the beginning of December 2005 created a “sensitivity” towards earthquakes. It is not Dr Owuor only who claims the end of the world here in Kenya. I assure you this is not a joke. This however does not take away from Dr. Owuor’s relationship with God or some of the good things he has said:
“People are building personal kingdoms and empires with wrong, spiritual foundations in the name of God. Their training is preparing them for ministry as a gateway to wealth. Their preaching is horizontally heavy on flesh and blood, never vertical enough to help their congregants meet God on His own terms (I Cor. 15:50). That’s not a good model anyhow.” – THE BIG INTERVIEW: Dr. Owuor on his life, ministry…..and new prophecies
I agree that the Body of Christ should be praying with or without earthquakes. However I am concerned that this is being considered prophesy without doubt. I will even qualify this. Dr Owuor was sent away from Kenya, so we are now either waiting for believers in Kenya to turn to God or for the earthquake. Let us wait…

There is a thing as praying “amiss”.

” Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts” (James 4:3). A lot of people pray out of the fear of injury not because they identify with the heart of God and the sin on the earth.

As for those praying for the removal of sin in the church, pray for the Church of Christ that is without borders (1 Cor. 12:25-27) . Pray also for God to overrule the machinations of our leaders in Kenya that we may live in peace and be able to live godly lives for others to see Christ in us (1 Tim. 2:1-4), and above all that the Body of Christ may begin to show the love for one another and reach the unity of faith in Christ so that the world may know that Christ was the “Sent One” of God (John 17: 21, Ephesians 4:11-16).

I am disappointed however that you consider what I write as “philosophy” and yet you do not show how I err. Truth is based on the Scriptures, there is no other base (John 17:17). It is not based on proclamations of men, not yours and not even mine.

Anyway it is obvious prayer is not based on Scriptures nowadays. Take Daniel.

In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans; In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes”(Daniel 9:1-3).

Daniel, a Scripture reader, came across the prophesy of Jeremiah and began to pray for the restoration of Israel based on what he read.

So Tom, I will not be intimidated with being called lukewarm or receiving the fruit of the world as Adam did. Those are the cheap shots in which you are missing the message and going after the messenger. If you want to help me, show my error from the Scriptures.

My challenge to you is simple, show us the Scriptures that show what you talk of as a “latter anointing” let alone fresh revelations from Jesus.

• 54. Tom  |  March 16, 2007 at 12:52 am

Dear Gitonga,
I am proud of your reliance on Scripture but I am worried that you may have considerd my shots brutal (cheap) for that I apologise, but I wil not apologise for one thing, that like Daniel, scripture sould draw us to Prayer so that we may recieve new revelations from God. When Daniel understood the times from the scrols of Jeremiah he did one wonderful thing, he prayed until something happened until an Angel was sent to reveal to Him the Misteries of God that were later to be revealed to John as the Revelations of Jesus Christ (The Good Book of Revelation).

This is the bottom line, scripture are our source of TRUTH and the wise (those living in the Spirit) will recieve new revelations and motivation to understand the times, when I read Matt 24 and combine with Joel 2: 28-30 the Scripture revelation of the Latter annointing which will preceed te events leading to the secod coming of Jesus our Lord and Saviour; and I went into Prayer deep Prayers indeed with Fasting, something happened, God sarted to reveal strange events to show how True my feelings were, as a matter of fact, many strange events including my mysterious Healing and also Owuor happened to be some of those signs that God programmed to reveal to me during this time, and all that the Holy Spirit was revealing was slowly coming into place. The reason why I used the word “phylosophy” sorry if it annoyed you, is that I didnt read from your argument if you went to ask the source of all things God (just like Daniel did) to back up Scripture, this is what makes us confident that we have a relationship with Christ. He speaks for sure and when you spend time with Him, He will reveal all things through the Holy Spirit.

This brings me to what I meant when I insisted about which Spirit do we have? Gitonga, its in my interest to share with you this, it was never my intention to contest your knowledge of the Word, but it is still my interest to encourage your motivation to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit! strange? NOT AT ALL, when Jesus said he will send us a Helper who will reveal all Truth (John 16: 5-16) he needed us to prepare for recreation; what we lost with Adam we get with Jesus and Perfected by the Holy Spirit for final Redemption.

The Work of the Holy Spirit : The True WORD/Jesus says;
“Now I am going to him who sent me, yet none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’ Because I have said these things, you are filled with grief. But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.
“I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit comes HE WILL GUIDE YOU INTO ALL TRUTH. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.
“In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.”
***
I wont say more; the point is simple, if we want to keep in step with the Spirit of God, we must Live Life in the Spirit (Gal 5; Rom 6;7;8) because its the Holy Spirit that is preparing the Bride for Christ, that is why Jesus was careful after mentioning the work of the Spirit, He had to caution that “In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.”

I saw the rains fall in Kakamega in broad daylight during a Powerful Repentance, I saw a lame girl from birth walk for the first time in Nakuru, I saw a woman stand up from a wheel chair in UK, I can go on and on, but all I can say is that the ones who are ready to experience the Latter Annointing are experiencing it by Faith without having to lie or buy fake annointing or listen to messages from demons (I Tim 4:), the Key is to Live in Spirit and like Peter confirm your Faith with this advice 2 Peter 1:12-14 “So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in THE TENT OF THIS BODY, because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.”

Life in the Spirit is the opposite of life in the flesh
God will reveal more in the inner room. Amen

• 55. Daniel Kamiri  |  March 17, 2007 at 1:07 pm

Dear Dr. Owuor,
I am convicted that it is the Lord’s word concerning the church in Kenya. I however cannot judge since am just but a human being. But my spirit is convinced that we need to turn back to the true gospel.
Truly, if only we had 10% faithful Christians in this country, things would be different. Of course my prayer is, that though the Lord punishes the child He loves, that His rod will not be too hard on us. And also, that we as the church shall be purified and understand our place in the country.
We are the salt and once we lose taste, we are stumped upon. Therefore, I pray that we will wake up. I am totally against the gospel of “panda mbegu” because my God is not a miracle dispenser. He is the Beginning and the End…the King of kings and Lord of lords. He has no match…He is Sovereign…He cannot be arm twisted. But the church has warmed up to the lusts of this fallen flesh by promising miracles if one Plants to the Kingdom. That is NOT TRUE GOSPEL.
God bless you Prophet for having the courage to warn us as a nation…because I know you love us and God does too.
God bless you.

Dear Kenyans,
Please lets not take for granted what ever the man of God has prophesised. Truely we have sinned and gone against the wishes of God as a nation and particulary in our churches.

So lets go down on our knees, cry and repent to God so that we may be clean, So us when it reaches the time for the groom to come he will find us especially those who are washed with his blood, pure n fresh so that together we go to rejoice in even with him.

Now what will the man(Owour) say if the earthquake does not happen?
A. I was lying to you
B. People have repented their sins
C. The earthquake will happen after 10 years
D. I never said such a thing of an eathquake happening

lets wait and see and dont be scared by these religious folks who claim to understand the future.
there is no such a thing as an earhtquake that will happen and if it does it will not be the first to happen since other places have also experienced the same and recovered from it.
this is a working nation so lets continue to address real isssues like governance, corruption in government, welbeing of the society etc and avoid taking philosophical issues like these sooooo seriously.
we already have more problems than we can take such that if an earthquake happens will not add signijficantly to our net problems,,, otherwise what can you say about AIDS, starvaTION, corruption and other issues affecting us.
lets get serious kenyans and stop being idle to an extent of believing such comments which have no basis or means of authentication.
anybody who feels the same or otherwise may reply to me.

During the last days the Holy Book says many things will be said and it will be very hard to know the truth. We only need to repent our sins and believe in God Almighty.Lord Hear Our Prayers.
