MK prorogues parliament

4:00 pm KBC TV news reports that MK has prorogued parliament with effect from Wednesday 16th January.

A special issue of the Kenya Gazette issued on Wednesday states that in exercise of the powers conferred by section 59 (1) of the Constitution of Kenya, he has prorogued Parliament with effect from the 16th January, 2008.

    For those of us who are not sure, is this a normal, clerical move or is something up? From the formal description, seems it could be either.
