Crashed beyond recognition

On my way home from picking some friends at the airport a few minutes ago, I encountered an unussual jam along Mombasa Road (10:15 p.m isn’t peak hour!).

I didn’t know what it was about till we snaked our way past a sober-looking but obviously sad policewoman.

Nearby was some dark-bluish police car and 3 or 4 matatus, – total silence and inaction around them.

On the road before us, just near the ominously-placed police thingy (tonight not marked STOP ACCIDENT), was a man / woman crashed beyond recognition.

The only thing visible before us…of any human likeness in the dark night…were his / her bloody ribs.

From Ghana, with some great stuff (part II)

Click here for details. And for those among you who thought Bebe Cool, Chameleon, Gae, Blue 3 and such others were the only contemporary faces of Ugandan popular culture, you will want to think again. There is also this moving story from Kenya.

Ravi into Kenya, Africa soon…

Beyond visiting Africa once every so often, Christian apologist Dr. Ravi Zacharias is finally considering a committed long-term presence in Africa with offices in Nairobi.

He has written to say (excerpts):

“…Africa has been on our hearts for a long time…and at last the Lord has brought a wonderful apologist our way.  We are in the final stages of working this out, and the Lord willing, we will be opening an office in Nairobi by the end of the year…”

This should provide an exciting opportunity for meaningful conversations these sides of eternity and the world in so far as Christ and Christianity are concerned.
